Air Fryer Keto Green Beans

I love multi-use recipes! These air fryer keto green beans make a healthy snack or are perfect when paired with chicken or fish. Sometimes, I will go the extra mile and coat them in pork panko or Parmesan and turn them into green bean fries! You can even chop them into small pieces and add them to stir-frys or casseroles. Multi-use, homemade, and keto-friendly. Yes, please!

Are green beans keto?

Yes, green beans are suitable for a ketogenic diet and are considered low-carb beans. They are relatively similar to keto-friendly green vegetables like broccoli and brussels sprouts. In fact, 10 whole green beans equal 3 net carbohydrates, 1 gram of protein, and 20 calories.

Can you cook fresh green beans in an air fryer?

Absolutely! I even recommend it. Cooking green beans in an air fryer will give you complete control over how cooked you’d like them to be. Aim for a shorter cooking time if you are in the mood for slightly roasted green beans. For crispier edges, cook them for 20-25 minutes. Of course, each air fryer works differently, so following the manufacturer’s recommendations is best.

Tips

  • Don’t forget to remove the stems. After washing and drying your green beans, cut off the stems.
  • Use fresh green beans for this recipe.
  • Discard super small green beans. There are always a few in each bag and these little beans will burn up in your air fryer. Use green beans about 3 1/2″ to 4″ long.
  • Cook them in batches. If you have more than 1 pound of green beans, it’s best to air fry them in batches.
  • Customize your toppings. Top these delicious air fryer keto green beans with grated Parmesan, crumbled feta, fried garlic, or crumbled bacon.
