What temperature do you cook sweet potato fries in a fryer?

The best temperature for air frying sweet potato fries falls between 375-380 degrees F.

Why are my air fryer sweet potato fries not crispy?

The short answer is, crowding. It is important to air-fry sweet potato fries in batches. Overcrowding will result in steamed, soggy fries. Spread them apart in the basket, then fry as directed. Repeat the process with each batch.

Making Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees F.
  • Peel sweet potatoes, then cut into 1/4″ thick fries. See photos for reference.
  • Place them into a large bowl and add all remaining ingredients, EXCEPT parsley. Toss to coat, and split into three separate batches.
  • Add the first batch to the air fryer basket. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until brown and crispy (not burned). Check halfway through the cooking time to see how they are progressing.
  • Remove cooked fries and repeat the process with the next 1-2 batches.

  • Rosemary (or your favorite fresh herb)
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt and black pepper
  • While the sweet potato fries are cooking, prepare the dipping sauce by combining all ingredients in a small bowl. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Place your sweet potato fries on a platter, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with the garlic-herb dipping sauce. Enjoy! Try this dish alongside bunless burgers or baked salmon.
